About Me
I am an M.S. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, working with the Mobility Transformation Lab under the supervision of Prof. Henry Liu. I am also collaborating with Prof. Zhiwen Fan at the PHAI Lab, Texas A&M University, where I lead a project on robust feedforward 4D Gaussian Splatting reconstruction from in-the-wild driving-scene videos.
Previously, I received a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Glasgow, in a joint program with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC).
Research Interests
Embodied policies are limited by scarce real-world data, especially for rare and difficult situations. My research builds faithful simulators and uses their synthetic experience to learn better policies.
- World Models for Embodied Simulation: Do generated scenes, behaviors, and events match our intent and the real-world distribution? I study how to make world models more faithful and controllable as simulators, and how to evaluate them (WorldCorner).
- 3D/4D Reconstruction: Thanks to its explicit geometric constraints, Gaussian Splatting is a strong way to represent scenes. I study how to turn unannotated in-the-wild data into editable, simulation-ready digital twins (DC-Forward, crash reconstruction).
- Learning Robust Policies from Synthetic Experience: I aim to close the loop by generating targeted rare, difficult, and counterfactual scenarios to train safer, more robust policies, with evaluation failures guiding what to generate next.
